Asahi Beverages Tullamarine – Modular CIP System Installation
Triplenine Group supported the delivery of a fully modular Clean-In-Place (CIP) system for Asahi Beverages at their Tullamarine facility, working in collaboration with ME Engineering, who acted as the head contractor and design authority for the project.
Our scope focused on fabrication, assembly, and commissioning support, ensuring the system was delivered efficiently and aligned with the overall project program.
Project Overview
The CIP system was developed as a complete modular solution to enhance cleaning efficiency, improve operational reliability, and support increased production capacity within the existing plant footprint.
The primary CIP skid measured approximately 9.5 metres in length and 2.2 metres in width and incorporated three independent cleaning circuits, along with all associated process equipment, balance tanks, and control systems.
Key System Features
The system comprises three fully integrated CIP circuits, each designed to deliver consistent and repeatable cleaning performance:
Integrated process equipment aligned with ME Engineering’s design specifications
Balance tanks for efficient chemical and water management
Centralised control panel for automated operation and monitoring
Hygienic piping systems suitable for food and beverage applications
Modular Fabrication Approach
A modular, off-site fabrication approach was central to the project’s success. The system was fully fabricated and assembled in our workshop prior to delivery, allowing fabrication activities to run in parallel with the client’s on-site civil works.
This approach delivered several key advantages:
Reduced overall project duration through parallel workstreams
Improved quality control in a controlled workshop environment
Safer and more efficient construction outcomes
Minimised disruption to ongoing site operations
Steam Heating System
A dedicated steam heating skid was fabricated to support temperature-controlled CIP operation. The system included:
Tube-in-tube heat exchangers for efficient thermal transfer
Steam control equipment for precise temperature regulation
Condensate recovery systems to improve energy efficiency and sustainability outcomes
Chemical Dosing System
The project also incorporated a purpose-built IBC chemical dosing enclosure, designed for safe and accurate chemical handling. This system included:
Integrated day tank for chemical storage and management
Dosing pumps and metering equipment for controlled chemical injection
Enclosed layout to enhance operator safety and accessibility
Tank Supply & Installation
Triplenine Group supplied and installed three new 12,000-litre tanks, fully integrated into the CIP system to increase capacity and operational flexibility.
Installation & Commissioning Support
All equipment was transported to site in modular sections and installed in accordance with the project program. Triplenine Group worked closely with ME Engineering during installation and commissioning, ensuring:
Alignment with design and process requirements
Efficient integration with existing plant infrastructure
Smooth transition from installation to operational readiness
Project Outcome
The completed CIP system delivers:
Increased cleaning capacity and efficiency
Reliable and repeatable automated cleaning processes
Reduced downtime and improved plant utilisation
Enhanced sustainability through energy-efficient heating and condensate recovery
